I feel I don't really have a very organized or logical thought process. So when a friend asked me if I could work on a logo for his organization, I was rather hesitant. I was also starting a new job, so at most, I could only provide him with a concept which he could then take and build on. He was okay with that (and really, in the end, they needed more time to work on it which I couldn't commit to), so I got started working. The organization is Sydney Professional Development Forum. They may have renamed themselves by now, but I'm sure their over all goal will be the same: to help connect professionals and further their career aspirations.
I went through a few drafts, but I can't seem to find them any longer (heh, unorganized remember? ). However, I do have the final concept I sent through to them before I started my new job.
I wanted to kind of depict people breaking the 'glass ceiling' in their respective industries, making connections and succeeding.
This isn't Sydney PDF's final logo, but regardless, it was a great learning experience for me to visualize and illustrate concepts. I have a new found respect for logo designers who do this so well and so much more effectively.
